Danny embarks on his first week at university looking forward to fun, parties and girls - not least Becky, who Danny falls for as soon as he arrives. Danny gets an unwelcome surprise when his old school pal Shane - the 'worst best friend ever' - turns up and proceeds to gatecrash his entire university existence.

Having spectacularly crashed and burned with two girls in one week - one of them his own flatmate Scarlet - Danny seems condemned to a whole year of awkwardness. But he has a chance to get his love life back on the rails by going on a date with seriously hot third-year fashion student Maya. All he has to do is convince her that he's cool enough to be with her, and luckily Shane is around to take him to 'Cool School'.

Danny is having a bad day. On one hand, he has to fend off the amorous advances of his oversexed lecturer Vanessa. On the other, Shane has put himself in the doghouse by accidentally throwing away Danny's photography coursework. But things start to look up when Danny has a chance to make up with Scarlet and impress his photography hero.

Shane has never been on a real date before, so he is amazed when he lands a double date with a pair of stunning sisters - exchange students from Germany. It is Halloween and Shane plans to throw the biggest and best party the campus has ever seen, but their mysterious flatmate 'Weird Bloke' is determined to ruin it. This means war, especially when Weird Bloke's sabotaging tactics get in the way of Shane's big chance to pull.

It is the student elections and Danny and Shane are ready to take on the world, or the campus at least. But first they have to beat the politically superior Scarlet and her alpha male running mate Figaro. Are they up to the challenge? With the first term hurtling towards its finale, Danny's end-of-term project sees him having to produce his own live TV show. But with no special guests, Danny is stuck with Shane's dubious mate Tony, a self-proclaimed 'one-stop entertainment shop' and a real live wire. Will Danny make it out alive, and will he ever get around to asking Scarlet out on a date?
