L'idée de la création du groupe provient de 4chan : quand Manuel Gagneux, avec son ancien projet, cherchait des styles musicaux, on lui proposa "nigger music" & "black metal". Il a donc mélangé les deux.
Le dernier EP en date s'inscrit dans la lignée du mouvement BLM, avec notamment une chanson intitulée I Can't Breathe.

"- Enfin, pour sortir de la musique en elle-même, tu es une militante, notamment pour le droit des femmes mais également dans la lutte antiracisme. Trouves-tu que la scène Metal a un défaut particulier de ce côté-là ?
- Tout le monde n’est pas forcément d’accord avec ce que je vais dire, mais … Effectivement, le racisme, le sexisme et l’homophobie, en France, c’est systémique, et partout il y a de quoi militer. Mais, je maintiens, que dans la scène Metal, c’est d’autant plus virulent. J’en ai parlé dans le podcast des Heavystériques, à écouter pour plus de détails sur la question !

- Tu es intervenue dans le podcast féministe Heavystérique, dans lequel tu as décris plusieurs expériences négatives à la fois en tant qu’amateur du genre et à la fois en tant que musicienne. Ces incidents t’ont déjà fait te poser des questions sur ta place dans la scène ?
- Oui, évidemment. C’est même la raison pour laquelle je ne suis monté.e sur scène que 3 ans après le début du projet. Même après être monté.e sur scène, et à chaque seconde, je pouvais me sentir rabaissé.e à ma place de “femme” et ou de personne non-blanche. C’est aberrant, épuisant, et c’est une des raisons pour laquelle je suis beaucoup plus regardant.e sur les concerts qu’on peut me proposer aujourd’hui.

- Beaucoup de groupes flirtent avec des idées d’extrême droite, voire les prônent, soit par conviction soit par provocation. Considérant l’essence subversive et transgressive que le Black penses-tu ces positions encore pertinentes à l’heure où l’extrême droite se décomplexe et affirme ses idées partout ?
- Tant que la scène et ses acteurs continueront à mettre en avant des personnes qui sont ouvertement faf, cela continuera à dire aux personnes oppressées “on ne veut pas de vous ici”. C’est dur à dire, mais c’est comme ça. Et détourner le regard ne fait que participer à ce système.
Ce n’est pas pour autant qu’il faut laisser la scène à ces personnes là, au contraire, il faut militer et s’approprier l’espace, dès qu’on peut."
